Anne-Marie Draycott
Life & Mindset Coach for CreativesHelping creative women channel their full potential so they can shine!
Hi, I’m Anne-Marie! Actor. Writer. Life & Mindset Coach for Creatives. Helping women restore their Creative Confidence!
My Story
As an actor, I’ve had the joy of popping up in some of the North’s finest telly—Coronation Street, Happy Valley, and Kay Mellor’s The Syndicate—as well as treading the boards in a range of theatre productions. Here’s my Spotlight link.
I also love my work as a corporate roleplay actor, helping people from all walks of life develop confidence, communication, and presence. That work – witnessing real transformation – led me down the path to coaching. I’m now a certified Life Coach and Positive Intelligence Coach, and I specialise in supporting women to reconnect with their creative confidence. (More on that over on my Coaching page…if your interest is piqued, head over and I’ll see you there!)
Writing has always been part of my life. With my brilliant writing partner Charity Trimm, I’m one half of Draycott & Trimm. Our comedy script Pregnant Pause won the BAFTA Rocliffe Comedy Scriptwriting Competition, we’ve penned sketches for the fabulously surreal Gaelic show FUNC, and written for the Guinness World Record-breaking feature film 50 Kisses with our short Dream Date. We’re also part of the Gobby Girls Writing Team and our sketches have featured in their shows: The 11% Club, Edinburgh Festival Fringe (2025); The AfterParty, SohoTheatre (2025 & 2026) .
When I’m not writing scripts, I keep my creativity alive with poetry & spoken word, performing at venues across West Yorkshire including Ink Spill, Under the Lobby Lights, Soul Shed, Yea Write, Attic Stories and the 2025 Huddersfield Poetry Slam. I’m also part of the powerful female spoken word collective That’s What She Said, amplifying stories from women affected by violence.
My poetry’s been published in Ey Up 3 – Anthology of Northern Writing, Inkspill Zine 2024, That’s What She Said: Words of Wild Women Zine and new work is due to be published in the Rotonde Review.
My Values & Beliefs
Self Expression
For too long women and vulnerable groups have been conditioned to fear speaking up. Creativity is one of the ultimate forms of self expression. I want to do everything in my power to help creative women express themselves as fully and authentically as possible.
Self Respect
Creative women often prioritise the needs of others over their own needs – including the need to express themselves creatively. Learning to honour their boundaries & respecting their own needs is key to creating time and space for powerful creativity.
Connection
Women’s stories matter. And sharing those stories creates much-needed connection and understanding. I want to live in a world where suppressed stories can be heard and embraced.
Everyone is creative
People might call themselves actors or writers or artists or dancers or singers or photographers – but I believe that whatever title we give ourselves, we are ALL creative beings. We create our lives every single day. And I believe we should have all the opportunity to CREATE our BEST life possible.

Extract from my poem ‘Share Your Words’
“What if my words are heard and are not dismissed as absurd? What if they connect? Resurrect a piece of soul lost in the void, presumed destroyed but now alive as I decide to step into the power of my words.”
